Naledi Modupi
Pushing Culture Forward
"She challenges narratives, celebrating the strength and softness of women's truths."
Biography
Visual storyteller Naledi Modupi works intuitively across painting, mixed media, and conceptual work, allowing emotion, memory, and lived experience to guide the process. Her work centers women, especially Black women, their inner worlds, their softness, their strength, and the things they carry silently. Drawn to themes of identity, intimacy, healing, and becoming, her practice is less about perfection and more about honesty, creating space for vulnerability, presence, and reflection. She drives culture forward by gently challenging the ways women are framed, spoken about, or overlooked, offering new narratives that feel tender, powerful, and true, honoring lived experiences while shifting perspective and leaving something meaningful behind.
