Biography

Urban planner, illustrator, and creative entrepreneur Ricardo "Ricky Davinci" Nobangela works at the intersection of city-making, culture, and visual storytelling. Blending technical urban planning with creative expression, he documents, reimagines, and humanizes African urban spaces, particularly environments often misrepresented or overlooked. Through illustration, live drawing, spatial research, and community-based projects, he explores how people move, gather, trade, and create culture in the city, focusing on streets as social infrastructure, places of memory, resistance, play, and identity. He drives culture forward by reclaiming narrative power, celebrating everyday urban life, and using creativity as tool for spatial justice, proving cities are built with stories, shifting how value is understood and who gets to shape the future.
